Hi my name is Aimee and 3 Yellow Doors is a blog that I created to share a little insight to my crazy go-round life. I am a do it yourself kinda gal, crafting is my meditation. I am a hippie at heart. I love sunshine, iced tea and crocheting. I am a mother, a wife, a friend, a daughter, a painter, a photographer, a crafter, a vintage lover, a thrifter, a bargain hunter, a decorator, a furniture refinisher, a small business owner, but most of all I am in love with my life and everything about it. Hope you enjoy my blog <3

Burlap Wreath Project

My Friday night project: Well I currently have some sick kiddos that are getting their rest so we can head out to California tomorrow night. So bed time tonight was early. Since I have cleaned, and packed up almost everything, I decided to take out a hobby lobby bag from the closet, full of fun diy craft projects.

I have been meaning to get to this burlap wreath for months, but there always seems to be something. So tonight was finally the night. I was amazingly surprised with how fast this wreath went. I honestly want to make a couple more of these and just add a couple of flowers and decor on the other ones. We'll see ;)

Well here is the process of how to make a burlap wreath:

All you need is a wire wreath, and some burlap ribbon or garland. Depending on what size you prefer.

You start by threading the burlap in and out of the wires, making sure to mix up the direction and twist and turn along the way. It helps if you bunch it altogether to make it full. Make sure to double check and make sure all the wire is covered along the way. I was able to tuck all ends underneath and in the holes.

I then tied some twine at the top to make it easier to hang on the hook and the wreath was complete.

I think it was the perfect little addition to our pantry door :) I love how it turned out!

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you all have a fabulous weekend!

Wow! Life has been crazy lately...

I literally have a project to do list that has numerous numbers on it, but lately I haven't even had a spare second to start or work on one.

Life has definitely been crazy in my world! It seems to never slow down. Birthday parties, play dates, fun with the kiddo's, work, clean, ect. Lots of activities going on here :)

The last couple weeks have flew by! We have had so much fun! Swimming, playing in the sun, and spending lots of time with family!

My Mother's Day weekend was great! I spent all day Saturday with my mom. The boys and I went over and played and talked. My mom and I talked for hours like always and had a great day and night together. The boys ate, played, ate some more and played some more. It's funny how I have the two pickiest eaters at home, but the second we go to anyone else's home they decide they want to eat their entire pantry. Never seems to fail. Haha. We had a great day together.

Sunday was spent with my main men in the morning, my husband surprised me and made breakfast and let me sleep in! Yes SLEEP IN! That is definitely the greatest gift imaginable. Especially for a mommy like me who is still waking up in the middle of the night to a hungry little baby! Who by the way turned 8 months old a couple days ago! Yes my little newborn is suddenly an 8 month old baby! Where is the time going?! Anyway, he also bought me my clock that I have been eyeing for quite some time from Rod Works! It is beautiful and huge & I hung it over my tv :) It was a perfect gift!

We then went and spent the afternoon with the Barro Family. Such great times spent on the farm! Chickens, Swimming, Baseball, Fun in the garden, Horses, and more! We had a beautiful relaxing laid back afternoon! It was a great weekend with family altogether!!! I am very blessed to get along so well with my in laws. They are so amazing and I love spending time with each and every one of them! My mother in law is definitely my second mommy, so we always have a blast hanging out together!

Now it is back to the grind with work, school, running the kids around and most importantly packing for California! YAY! We leave Saturday late night, Sunday early morning. Just depends how we feel. We are thinking of taking off around 3am so the kids can sleep the whole ride there and that way when we get to the beach we won't be missing half the day. Hopefully it all plays out well :) It will definitely be interesting! This is our first vacation with all three kids! Wish us luck ;)

Hi there,

I thought I would finish my last post about my downstairs powder room and add a couple pictures. It is coming along and almost complete. YAY! Just need to add the final touches. A couple white flowers for the yellow vases, some hand lotion on the shelve, a little picture/wooden sign for the wall next to the toilet, and a couple more decor items and it will be finished. I am so happy with how it is turning out :)

Antique Merchant Square

Saturday Fun!

If you haven't been to the Antique Merchant Square over in Chandler, AZ! Please go check it out!

It is literally one of my favorite places to go stroll, admire and shop! Baby Jameson and I decided to venture there today for a little browsing. I could have spent thousands of dollars and still not have gotten everything I wanted! There are so many different types of antiques from adorable kitchen items, to antique typewriters, to decor galore and they even have the most adorable refinished furniture!

I'm obsessed! Today's pick up's a shabby chic mirror for the powder room, some adorable shabby decor and a super cute vintage trunk/suitcase for the living room. Not a bad day :)

Just finished hanging the mirror up and now I can't wait to finish decorating the powder room.

Thank you to my amazing mother in law for watching Jayden and Julian for a little weekend fun!

So excited to spend the next two days with my amazing little family <3

Hope you are all having a beautiful weekend and make sure to check out the Antique Merchant Square, trust me you will be happy you did :)

Weekend Plans

Wow two times in one day I am on a roll!

Well anyone who knows me knows every single weekend I am a maniac. I am either attending birthday parties, family gatherings, hanging with friends, or doing some sort of craft or project around the house. I just can't sit still. Yes I know I have a problem. This weekend is like the rest. Let me first mention our weekend starts Saturday night. Matt has off Sunday and Monday so our weekend officially starts Sunday. Those are the only two days a week I get to see my man and he gets to spend time with his little munchkins. We always have a family day/night whether it be a walk to the park to play soccer, or a trip to the splash pad. The boys love their time with their daddy, and mommy loves the help :) I also have some time to work on my projects around the house. So I take advantage and try and do at least one thing around the house every weekend. This is weekend I have so many things to do I can't decide which one to finish or start. My current project list:

1. Finish downstairs powder room. I need to buy and hang a thick white wooden mirror. Hang the white shelve and add some cute vintage decor.
2. Start the Laundry room. Paint it a light shade of gray. Hang the Laundry Room sign. Build the ikea shelve that I bought like two months ago and finally organize all the tools and laundry room supplies, put them into the white bins and label each bin with the chalkboard labels. Yes I have OCD. Haha.
3. Start the playroom. I just FINALLY finished designing this about a week ago and I am dying to get started on it. The thing about the playroom is it is a HUGE project! The playroom itself is HUGE! It is as big as our family room, so painting it alone will take an entire weekend and I honestly just don't have the time or energy to even start that right now.
4. Spray Paint all my items in the garage with my creamy white spray paint. I have soooo many odds and ends out there ready to get a clean white fresh coat of paint. I really need to get on this. Spray painting is so fast and easy! Hmmm Maybe I will get around to it this weekend.
5. Honestly if I were to write out every single thing I need to do it would be over 100 items and I'm sure no one wants to read about that so let me just get to what I am contemplating currently. Yes this is very random and out of no where but I have been obsessively looking up how to refinish my cabinets to be an antique white color. Yes I know, I did JUST move in and we did pick our cabinets which are currently BLACK! I really wanted to get them white but it was sooo expensive and we paid less than half to go dark so we just figured if we wanted to change them we would eventually. Well now I have been obsessed, I just think the kitchen would so much brighter and cleaner with white. If I were to do them myself I would obviously do them the correct way and not skip a single step. I would definitely sand them each down and prime & paint them exactly how you are suppose to. I've done so many pieces of furniture but when it comes to cabinets it just freaks me out a little bit. I don't know I will have to think about it some more and see if my man is up for this job because it will be a lot and a lot and a lot of sanding and prepping!

Well those are my current projects floating around my head.

Number one priority right now, I definitely need to get to work & get some orders out tomorrow :) So off to crochet land I go! Some of TLC's current custom items right now include: Minnie Mouse, Hello Kitty, Valentines Day Hat's (Yes some mommies are that ahead of schedule), an adorable 4th of July set, a custom order baby bikini and so many more! So exciting! Can't wait to finish these adorable little items! :)

Hope you all have a fabulous weekend!

Giving it a try Again!

Hey everyone, Yes it's me Aimee again! I don't even know how many of these things I have tried to create and keep up with, but I decided I may as well give it another go. So here I am... Hello :) I want to start this one off fresh, so it isn't going to be about what I have gone through to get to where I am now. It's just going to be pretty basic. Me saying Hello to you all and hoping you will stick around to see a little peek into my crazy chaotic world. I will try and stay up to date and write often. This blog will be full of fun filled crafts, do it yourself projects, current obsessions, three little monkeys, my crochet business, and weekends full of paint, sweat, memories and laughs. It's a crazy life, but it is mine and I am loving every single second!
